Attendance: Many 4th grade Learning activities are group oriented and involve interaction with classmates. Therefore, it is next to impossible to recreate these activities at home. Please view school as a priority and see to it that your child attends everyday except in cases of illness or emergency.
Book Orders: Book Orders will be sent home monthly. This is a great resource for purchasing books inexpensively. Please send cash or checks made payable to Scholastic.
Birthday: If you wish to send in a treat to celebrate your child’s birthday, please send in only ONE birthday treat with any necessary paper products. We will not pass out invitations.
Classroom Agendas: Homework and any teacher notes will be written in your child’s agenda every night. Please review and INITIAL every night. Please include any notes you may have for me in the agenda.
Dismissal: School ends at 3:38.
Emergencies: Please make sure we have emergency numbers on file for your child.
Friday Flyers: Will come home each Friday and are due signed on Monday.
Grading Scale: Your child will continue to receive letter grades this year. Please see attached grading scale.
Homework: Your child will have homework approximately every night for the remainder of the school year. Children are responsible for completing assignments on time. Homework will be graded and sent home ASAP.
Internet: In order for your child to use the computer, you will need to fill out an “Internet Use and Guidelines” form. Your child will not be able to use the computer at all until it is turned in.
Jobs: We all take part in making our classroom great. Your child will be responsible for a classroom job.
Kindness: The children and I will work hard to create a kind classroom community.
Lunch: Lunch RECESS is first in 4th grade. Our lunch hour is from 11:36-12:24
Management: Students will know the schedule and rules the first day. They will be expected to follow the classroom/school rules. Please refer to the handout that explains our behavior system that reinforces positive behaviors.
Newsletters: Newsletters will be sent home once a month. Feel free to check our website
Our Specials: Please see the attached specials schedule
Parties: We will be having a few holiday parties throughout the year. I may ask for donations/volunteers as the day approaches. Notes will be sent home prior to the party.

Reading: As part of students homework each night they will be reading This will help them to practice their reading skills.
Snack: Please send in a HEALTHY snack daily.
Teacher Time: Your child will have a chance to earn tickets to eat lunch and a special dessert with me. Tickets are earned for great behavior, agenda signatures, and turning in homework on time.
Understand: Please understand that your child will make huge progress at times and plateau at other times. Please help your child through each stage of his/her fourth grade experience.
Volunteers: We love volunteers! March is Reading Month is a perfect time! More information to follow.
Water: Your child may bring a water bottle to keep at his/her desk.
Writing Workshop: Your child will get to experience the stages of publishing writing pieces this year as we learn about the writing process.
